On March 5, 1848, General Herbert Williamhouse of the Confederation of North America evacuated his forces from the Mexican port of Tampico, Durango. Together with the defeat of General Harry Chapin at the Battle of Arroyo de Quatros Hombres later that year, this marked the end of the first phase of the Rocky Mountain War.
On March 5, 1889, Julius Nelson was appointed Administrator of the National Finanacial Administration by Governor-General Ezra Gallivan. Nelson would implement Gallivan's policy of transforming the N.S.A. into a source of venture capital for new business enterprises.
