On July 2, 1782, the Confederation of North America was formally established when the Britannic Design went into effect. John Burgoyne was sworn in as Viceroy of the C.N.A. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, while the leaders of the five newly-established confederations of the C.N.A. were also sworn in in their respective capitals.
